Dave Penny

Dave Penny has been with Top Gear since 2003.

He has a background in training young people as he was an apprentice instructor at Ashley and Rock in Ulverston for many years. Dave is an experienced trainer and has a very calm and reassuring manner with his pupils.

Married to Helen with 3 sons, Dave used to sing in a local rock group "Hatchet" in the late 1970's, and he still sings at the occasional reunion gig for the group!

He is a life long supporter of Barrow AFC, and in his spare time helps run the line for his son's football team - Ulverston Rangers.
